Tournaments
One link for a group of 3 to 32. A random bracket, every match in a round played at once, and the whole bracket visible to everyone in the room.

A tournament is a knockout bracket for a group, run from one room with one link.
Open a room
- In the lobby, choose Open a tournament, then a game and a size: up to 4, 8, 16 or 32 players.
- Share the room's link with everyone who wants to play.
- People join with an optional name. The name is shown only to the others in the same room.
A room is private unless its host chooses List it, which shows it under Open tournaments. A listed room shows only its game and how many people have joined.
Start and the bracket
The host presses Start the tournament once at least 3 people have joined. Players are paired at random. If the number of players doesn't fill the bracket, some get a bye and go through to the next round without playing.
Everyone in the room can follow the whole bracket: every pairing, by name, once its round is drawn, the byes, and who has won. You are marked. On a phone the rounds stack; on a wider screen they sit side by side.
Playing your matches
- Every match in a round is played at the same time. The next round starts when every match in the round has finished.
- Each match is an ordinary live game, with the three-minute move clock from Playing a friend.
- A match waits for both players to open it before its clock starts. A player who doesn't arrive within five minutes loses the match, so the bracket keeps moving.
- When your match ends, the result says whether you go through, and offers Play your next match as soon as the next round is drawn. Back to the tournament returns you to the room.
Finished and abandoned tournament rooms are deleted 30 days after they end.
