Animation Lab
Put a sprite's frames in order, set the speed and whether it loops, watch it play as the game will, and play the game with it.

Animation Lab edits the animations in a game's art: which frames play, in what order, how fast, and whether they loop. It works on the same art as Sprite Lab, so you can draw a frame there and put it in a sequence here.
Choosing an animation
The list on the left shows every animation the art has, such as ember.run or bat.fly. The game plays each one by name, so keep the names it uses.
New animation adds one: give it a name, choose the sprite it shows, and press Add animation.
The sequence
- Add a frame. Click any frame of the sprite to add it to the end of the sequence.
- Move.
←and→move a step earlier or later;×removes it. An animation keeps at least one frame. - Watch. The preview plays the animation at the game's own timing, and the line under it shows which step is showing and how long one loop lasts. Pause stops it.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Shows sprite | Which sprite's frames the animation uses. Changing it starts the sequence again from that sprite's first frame. |
| Frames a second | How fast it plays: a whole number from 1 to 60. |
| Loops | Whether it starts again at the end, or holds its last frame. |
Remove animation deletes it; undo brings it back. Ctrl+Z undoes and Ctrl+Y redoes.
Ready to play?
The same check as Sprite Lab: each animation the game plays must show a sprite of the size it expects. An animation you remove is played from the game's own art. Play test switches the game to your art and opens it.
To download or import art, or to reset it, use Sprite Lab: both labs share one working copy, saved in this browser once you change something.
