About Ember
Ember is a platformer you play on your own, in the browser, with no account and nothing to install. You are a small flame crossing the night, and each level ends when you reach its lantern and light it.
Run with the arrow keys or A and D, and jump with Space or the up arrow. Hold jump to go higher; let go early for a short hop. On a touch screen, buttons appear under the playing field. P pauses and R starts the level again.
Water and spikes put the flame out, and so does walking into a drip. Land on top of a drip instead and it turns to steam. Sparks are there to collect, and the clock is there to beat: each level remembers your best time and how many sparks you found.
Longer levels have braziers. Touch one to light it, and if the flame goes out you come back at the last brazier you lit, with your sparks kept. The levels come in worlds, starting with the Night meadow; finish every level of a world to open the next.
